Leaked images point to waterproof 'skeleton' structure, HDR video for Sony Xperia Z

Leak Sony Xperia Z to have waterproof 'skeleton' structure, HDR photos and video

With all the recent leaks of Sony's upcoming 5-inch Xperia Z, it's a good thing the smartphone will have a water resistant body, according to the latest one. The formidable device will also sport HDR photo / video capturing capabilities, a "skeleton frame structure" for durability and a so-called Full-HD reality display, according to a fresh leak from Chinese retailer E-price and micro-blogger Weibo. Those go along with specs that Sony inadvertently revealed on its own site a few days ago, including a 1080P display, quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, 13MP Exmor RS-equipped rear cam and Adreno 320 graphics. While these latest tidbits ought to be digested with the requisite NaCl, they jibe with the other specs floating around -- so, hopefully Sony will have something to report when it outs the camera for real at CES on January 7th.

Cool images, taken with your cell phone #58

We're back with the 58th post in our special photographic-centric series where we present you with a number of awesome images taken by... well, you (and your cell phones).

So, which picture did you like most last time? The answer is Khoa's photo, taken with the Sony Ericsson C901. And a pretty well-deserved first place it is, we should say!

Of course, there are many other incredible images left to be seen. Let's continue with another set of 10 pics, each of which can easily convince even the most professionally-inclined photographer that cell phones are more than a toy in the camera department.

Please note that if your own awesome image is not included here, this doesn't mean that it won't end up on the site. We simply might not have gotten to it yet! So, we urge you to continue following us, as we'll be publishing more of these truly great photos in the following days and weeks.

We'd also like to remind you that you can continue submitting your cool cell phone pics to the following email address:

In order to not miss on all the glory, you also have to mention your name/nickname, as well as the phone you used to take the shots. A nice additional piece of info would be a name or a short description for the image.

With that, we now leave you with our 58th set of favorite photos...

BlackBerry X10 and BlackBerry Z10 images leak

We are seeing a lot of BlackBerry 10 leaks off late, which is not surprising considering the official launch is just a month away from now. First we saw the full touchscreen L-series device couple of weeks ago. Then there was the N-series device a few days ago, with a full QWERTY keypad.

The latest leak shows not one but two new devices. One of them, the BlackBerry X10 (left), has a full QWERTY keypad just like the N-series phone (right). This particular phone, however, looks remarkably like the HTC ChaCha that came out last year and is a bit of a departure from the usual BlackBerry design.

The other one, the BlackBerry Z10, has a full touchscreen display but lacks the plastic strips at the top and bottom like the ones we saw on the L-Series device earlier.

So now we have seen four devices so far. Let's see how many are officially announced at the end of next month.

These Astounding Satellite Images Were the Best Bird's-Eye-Views of 2012 Our daily does of satellite imagery through services like Google Maps have made looking down at Earth seem rather hum-drum at times. But there are still magical and majestic sites to be hold, as seen in this selection from 2012.

DigitalGlobe recently announced their Best of 2012 picks out of their vast archive of images. Phenomena both natural and man-made make appearances, and are equally striking. We happen to love the one of Mt. Fuji gushing steam.
