Motorola 'Droid Maxx' image leaks out, could be extended battery version of Droid Ultra

Closing out a week full of Motorola leaks, @evleaks has posted this image of a device claimed to be the Droid Maxx, due on Verizon later this year and flashing a Kevlar frame with capacitive buttons. Earlier tweets and a source from Droid Life suggest this is the XT1080M, an extended battery version of the Droid Ultra (XT1080) that popped up on Motorola's website. An XT1080 recently appeared in the FCC database as well, spurring rumors we'll see more Droid-branded smartphones on the Big Red carrier very soon. To round out the rumors, the XT1030 is pegged as a Droid Mini, plus the XT1060 Moto X variant for Verizon. There's still no word on specs, but at this rate we'll probably have more info by tomorrow.

Nintendo debuts 3DS image sharing tool in Japan, uploads your screengrabs to Twitter, Tumblr

Still waiting for Miiverse to show its hide on Nintendo's 3DS? Maybe the promise of more conventional social networking will tide you over. Thanks to a new web tool, Japanese 3DS owners can now share screenshots from Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Tomodachi Collection:New Life with their Twitter and Tumblr followers. The setup is pretty simple, giving users access to a basic upload interface through the 3DS' built-in web browser. Just pick an image, add a caption and watch your retweets roll in. Unfortunately, the tool doesn't work with just any image -- attempting to upload a shot taken with the 3DS camera gave us an error, which told us (via a rough translation) that the picture came from "incompatible software." The tool is written entirely in Japanese, but folks with a knack for Kanji can check it out at i.nintendo.net. Looking for a compatible game? We hear there's a bundle for that.

Microsoft makes Bing image search more social with one-click sharing to Pinterest

Companies know how important it is to make their products as friendly as can be with third-party social websites, and Microsoft, for one, has done a pretty fantastic job at making sure the team behind Bing's doing exactly that. To wit, the Surface maker is, as of today, also starting to cater to the Pinterest crowd, announcing that it's now allowing users of the recently redesigned site to share Bing image search findings via a simple click -- assuming you're logged in, naturally. The new sharing feature might seem like a rather minor one on paper, but for avid Pinners, it'll certainly come in handy as they can keep their precious boards stocked up with a little less effort. And, well, you know what that means: more cats.

We've previously had just a smattering of text to hint that T-Mobile might kick off its formal LTE launch with a Sonic 2.0 Mobile Hotspot. Things just got more tangible this weekend through an apparent TmoNews leak. The really-truly-4G pocket router has surfaced in a supposed press render that's fairly plain looking, but suggests a little sophistication through a color screen. We're still missing the rather important details of the Sonic 2.0's performance and price; if prior tips are on the mark, though, we'll have our answers (and more devices) in about six weeks.

Purported Sony NEX-3N image leaks showing electronic zoom control

An image from an anonymous tipster just leaked to Sony Alpha Rumors showing a possible yet-to-be-announced Sony NEX-3N camera. All that can be gleaned from the pic so far is that such a model might exist, and if so, could have an electronic zoom control. All NEX still cameras have manual zooms only, but Sony did announce a pro video model, the NEX-EA50EH, that packs a servo control for the recent SEL18-200PZ 11x and SELP1650 16-50mm servo zoom lenses. The tipster also said that it'll have the 16-megapixel sensor of the current NEX-F3, which the site pointed out is showing up at a discounted price on Amazon (see coverage) -- another possible sign of a new model. We don't see photo fakery with cameras nearly as often as with smartphones -- but it does happen, so we'll need more than a leaked image before making new camera plans.

A press image of a black Samsung Galaxy Note II leaks out

Unsurprisingly, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy Note II will follow the suit of its Galaxy S III sibling and add more colors to its lineup. A press image of a black N7100 has emerged, thus pointing in this direction.

A black Samsung Galaxy Note II addition makes perfect sense - we reckon that plenty of people will opt for the stealthier color option of the Android powerhouse. A darker color scheme is sure to at least make the device appear smaller.

There is no word on when will the new color scheme become officially available. MWC 2013 seems like a fairly safe bet to us.
