New BlackBerry Bold 9270 spotted, runs old BB7 OS

We're right in the middle of putting BlackBerry's gently priced Q5 through review testing, but the latest phone leak from Waterloo (well, Thailand actually) doesn't run BB10 at all and will presumably weigh in at an even lower price tag. According to ThaiBBClub, the Bold 9720 you see before you will run on OS version 7, with all the requisite legacy hardware keys and menus. While it looks nothing like the 9900-mimicking Bold 9790 that came before it, there's still a full square-ish keyboard (with contoured keys), as well as a striped finish on the back that'll be familiar to the BB faithful still out there. 'Eye gestures' spotted in Google Glass app code, hints at wink-based photography

While perusing the code for Google Glass's companion Android app, Reddit user Fodawim chanced across several lines of code that could offer up some interesting navigation options for your Glass. Titled 'eye gestures,' it looks like the wearable's built-in sensors should be able to detect eye activity and integrate that into device input. Two lines of code mention enabling and disabling eye gestures, suggesting it'll be an optional feature, while other lines hint that it would have to be calibrated to your wink before use. Get your well-timed slow-wink at the ready, however, as the final line spotted suggests that a wink gesture can command the 5-megapixel camera to capture whatever you're looking at. Google was already granted a patent for unlocking a screen using eye-tracking information, although wink-based commands sounds a shade easier to deal with -- as long as it doesn't think we're blinking.

Alleged 'iPad 5' case spotted in Hong Kong, hints at slimmer and narrower body

Rumors of an upcoming iPad sporting a similar design as the iPad mini go as far back as late January this year, when our reliable friends at 9to5Mac shared some clear photos of a leaked chassis (check them out at the "More Coverage" link below). This was followed by an alleged photo of the front panel sent around earlier this month. But as before, cases for this unreleased "iPad 5" have also been making the rounds in China, and we've managed to get our hands on one at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair earlier today. It's the same old story according to a staff at the booth: the case is based on a leaked mold. Oops!

Compared to a similar case made for the two latest generations of the bigger iPad, this case again suggests a slimmer and narrower iPad is in the works, which would mean that this mysterious tablet is likely to have the same screen size but thinner left and right-side bezels -- just like the iPad mini. Similarly, the straighter edges support 9to5Mac's earlier leak of the iPad mini-like body. Let's just hope that Apple will still have a few surprises up its sleeves then, eh?

Bigger LG Optimus G Pro spotted with 5.5-inch 1080p display, headed for Korea?

Remember the LG Optimus G? Then the Optimus G Pro, headed exclusively Japan? Well how about another iteration? Apparently bound for the Korean homelands, this one's still called the Optimus G Pro, but expands to a 5.5-inch 1080p display, as well as getting a battery bump-up to 3,140mAh. According to the leaked spec sheet sent to Phone Arena, this will join a 1.7GHz Snapdragon processor, alongside a healthy 2GB of RAM and a whopping 32GB of storage -- plus microSD expansion. Is LG readying something similar for its global fans? We'll give them a few more weeks to fill us in.

Three mystery Samsung Galaxy Tab profiles spotted: GT-P8200 model houses 2,560 x 1,600 display?

While we know Samsung's planning plenty for us to see in Barcelona in a few weeks, we're still not certain on the specifics. Perhaps, then, it's got a handful of tablets for us. That's what these handful of User Agent profiles purport to show us. The model numbers GT-P3200, GT-P5200 and the GT-P8200 suggest that they'll join the Galaxy Tab family, although these profiles only give us a little detail to work on. The GT-P3200 appears to be the entry-level slab, with a 1,024 x 600 resolution more suited to tablets of yesteryear. This is cranked up to 1,280 x 800 for the P5200, while the GT-P8200 will apparently match the Nexus 10's pin-sharp 2,560 x 1,600 display.

Unfortunately, there's nothing here to confirm screen-size, processing punch or much else, although we managed to sniff out an AnTuTu benchmark for the GT-P8200 that reckons it'll house a (presumably multicore) 1.7GHz processor and Android 4.2. However, like these User Agent Profiles, we're looking at these results with a suspicious glare until something more official surfaces. Between the trio, there's likely to be a division between two different sizes of tablet -- possibly either side of that Galaxy Note 8 that's set to be make an appearance next month. Check out the GT-P8200's short-but-sweet benchmark listing after the break.
