Have You Noticed A Change In Your Commercials' Obnoxious Volume?Finally, after being in the works for about a year, the FCC has enacted a ban on unbearably loud television ads. You know, ads like this, or even this.

While the FCC actually adopted the law, called the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act, about a year ago, cable and satellite providers have had the time since to update their technology before making a full transition. The FCC plans to monitor stations' compliance using consumer complaints.

Even though the ban was officially instated yesterday, a few smaller stations have been granted an extension. For the most part, though, broadcasters are (supposedly) already following the rules. Have you noticed any difference in television commercials? And were you even bothered before? [NY Daily News]
